Pandora Car Alarms – Terms and Conditions of Sale & Installation

1. Installation Guidelines & Vehicle Compatibility

1.1 Vehicle Compatibility

Pandora systems are designed for broad vehicle compatibility. However, each manufacturer’s systems vary. Our alarms typically interface via the CANbus network or through external temperature sensors. Due to vehicle-specific limitations, data such as fuel level or temperature displayed on the Pandora app may be inaccurate or unavailable.

1.2 Factory OEM Alarm Systems

Some vehicles feature built-in factory alarms and immobilisers, which may receive remote updates from the manufacturer. For full integration with such OEM systems, an external Pandora Module (POA) may be required. This enables control over features such as:

  • Remote mirror closure

  • Deadlocks

  • Roof operation

  • OEM arming/disarming functions

Without the POA module, some OEM features may remain under factory control or become non-functional. Please consult your installer for full compatibility details.

1.3 Installation Process

During installation, the following may apply:

  • Wires may be cut or modified.

  • Vehicle factory specifications may be altered.

  • Factory keys may be dismantled.

  • Interior panels or trims may be removed or adjusted.

Important: Remove all personal belongings from the vehicle prior to installation. Pandora Car Alarms and authorised installers accept no liability for lost or damaged personal items.

2. GSM & Online Alarm Subscriptions

2.1 SIM Card Subscription

All GSM-enabled Pandora systems require a subscription provided exclusively by Pandora Car Alarms (UK). Your system includes 6 months of GSM service, which must be activated by your installer.

After this period, renewal is required to retain GSM/text/call/online features. Subscription options:

  • 6 Months – £70

  • 12 Months – £125

Prices are subject to change without notice.
If not renewed, the system reverts to Bluetooth-only mode with no online services. A fair usage policy applies from initial activation.

2.2 Cancellation & Refunds

SIM subscriptions may be cancelled within 21 days of activation for a refund on the unused portion. After this period, no refund applies. Subscriptions:

  • Are non-transferable

  • Must remain linked to the original vehicle and phone number

  • Require a £25 admin fee and potentially a new SIM if not renewed within 14 days of expiry

2.3 Roaming & Fair Use

Your system includes UK and EU roaming (up to 60 consecutive days). Excessive EU roaming may incur a £1.50/day surcharge. Non-EU use may incur additional costs.

Disclaimer: Pandora systems cannot be guaranteed to function correctly outside the UK.

3. Additional Features & Compatibility

3.1 Additional Sensors

Optional sensors (e.g., Pandora VS22) may be affected by local interference (Wi-Fi, dash cams, etc.), potentially causing false alarms. These can be disabled or removed if necessary.

3.2 Window & Mirror Closure

These functions are not standard. Compatibility varies by vehicle model and age. Older vehicles may require additional hardware.

4. Anti-Hijack Feature

This feature may not be supported on all vehicles. If unsafe or impractical to install, it will be disabled. Some vehicles may require return visits within 12 months for full integration.

Note: Pandora systems are not Thatcham approved.

5. Agreement Terms

5.1 Terms of Agreement

By purchasing a Pandora system, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Ownership of goods remains with Pandora Car Alarms Ltd until full payment is received.

5.2 Vehicle Access

You confirm that you own or have authorisation to act on behalf of the vehicle owner. Proof of ownership and valid ID may be required.

5.3 Booking & Deposits

Installations require a non-refundable £150 deposit. Appointments are not confirmed until the deposit and booking form are received.

5.4 Tag Range and Anti-Hijack Responsibility

The effective range of the Pandora tag varies depending on the surrounding environment, including factors such as building structure, interference from other devices, and vehicle location. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the tag is not left within range of the vehicle, whether at home, in public, or elsewhere.

We cannot be held responsible if the vehicle is started and driven while the tag remains within range. In such cases, if the Anti-Hijack feature is installed and active, it will trigger and immobilise the vehicle after the safety delay.

If you believe your tag range is too long or unsuitable for your environment, you must inform us so we can review and, if needed, reduce the detection range. Failing to do so may compromise the security of your vehicle, for which we accept no liability.

5.4 Finance
A minimum deposit of £150 is payable directly to Pandora HQ at the time of booking. The remaining balance will be paid through four equal monthly instalments to the finance company. The first instalment, representing 25% of the total finance amount, will be paid directly to the finance provider upon acceptance of your finance application, with the remaining three instalments collected monthly in accordance with the provider’s repayment schedule.

All finance applications must be submitted and approved no later than 48 hours (two business days) before your scheduled appointment. If your finance application is submitted within this 48-hour period and is subsequently declined, your £150 deposit will be forfeited and is strictly non-refundable.

6. Warranty Information

6.1 Workmanship Warranty

  • 12-month warranty on installation

  • First 60 days: on-site resolution at the install address

  • After 60 days: vehicle must be returned to our workshop

User-related issues (flat batteries, fuse failures) are not covered. Customers are responsible for tolls and access fees during callouts.

6.2 Parts Warranty

  • Main alarm unit: 3-year manufacturer warranty (annual servicing required)

  • Remotes, sirens, sensors: 12-month warranty

6.3 Warranty Transfer

Warranties are non-transferable unless inspected by an authorised installer at point of sale. A £165 inspection service may be offered for a 12-month continuation warranty subject to condition.

6.4 Warranty Exclusion

Warranty is void if:

  • System is tampered with

  • Work is carried out by an unauthorised installer

  • Wiring, programming or components are modified without approval

7. Returns, Refunds & Cancellations

7.1 Returns (Goods)

Unused goods may be returned within 14 days in original condition for a refund. Faulty item returns include free return postage.

7.2 Faulty Items

Faults must be reported to the original installer, who is responsible for inspection and warranty processing.

7.3 Order Cancellations

  • In-house installations: 50% refund if cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment

  • After installation: No refund unless product is faulty and irreparable

  • Online store orders: Can be cancelled before dispatch

Note: Sale items are non-refundable.

7.4 Remote Programming

All remote programming must be performed by an authorised installer. DIY programming may cause faults not covered by warranty.

7.5 Product Testing

Manufacturer testing (if required) may take up to 8–16 weeks for processing.

8. Delivery (Online Orders Only)

Goods are shipped to the address provided at checkout. International deliveries may incur additional fees. Failed deliveries may result in further charges.

9. Customer ID & Ownership Card

9.1 Customer Number

You will be issued a unique customer ID for all future correspondence.

9.2 Ownership Card

A green ownership card is provided with your system. If lost, a full alarm replacement (brain swap) with additional cost may be necessary.

10. Liability & Disclaimers

Pandora Car Alarms Ltd is not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses (e.g., profit, data, or business interruption)

  • Issues arising from unauthorised third-party installers

  • Damage or theft caused during or after installation

Any issues must be reported within 48 hours of install or delivery. Support and warranty claims must be handled via the original installer.

11. Legal Terms

11.1 Cooling-Off Period

A 14-day cancellation period applies to all online and in-store purchases, per UK Trading Standards regulations.

11.2 Data & Privacy

Your data is handled according to our Privacy Policy (available at www.pandoracaralarms.co.uk). Use of our services implies consent.

11.3 Agreement Variation

The contract comprises your verbal order with our sales team and these written Terms and Conditions. No variation to this agreement will be valid unless it is set out in writing and signed by the owner of Pandora Car Alarms Ltd. Verbal assurances or modifications by sales staff or installers will not be binding unless confirmed in writing by the owner.

11.4 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be settled under the jurisdiction of the English courts.

11.5 Consent to Terms

Payment of a deposit confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
